St Marks Coventry
Brief Overview
For many, lockdown has forced a rapid move to online content. This has been especially true for churches. In May I approached the production team at St Marks Coventry to offer my services. Since then I've been a part of the team helping to create content each week for their weekly online services.
Throughout this project, I’ve been able to expand my video production skills in both editing and filming content. For several months during Autumn 2020, we were pre-recording worship in the church building to be broadcast during the following week's service. In order to provide quality content, we choose to use a multi-cam setup. This way we could set up a number of fixed cameras that allowed us in most cases, to record in just a single take whilst capturing multiple angles with just a small team. This new setup has allowed me to become more efficient with my editing, gaining new knowledge and developing pre-existing skills. Most of these videos had to be produced in a just a few days and alongside other projects, so it was vital that I found the best and quickest way of producing each video without losing any quality in the final product. Check out some of the final videos below!
As well as working on pre-recorded video content, I've also been involved with camera production during some of the live streams. This role has allowed me to get to grips with working in a very different environment. Knowing that the content you are capturing is also going out live, provides extra pressure but I've found that it gives me more focus and attention for every frame I capture.
